Rangatahi in New Zealand aged between 10 and 16 years old who are curious or have a passion for space and engineering. Entries accepted from all over Aotearoa.

This project will help rangatahi understand the engineering process by guiding them through a series of design thinking principles to enable them to design a robotic insect for an extraterrestrial environment.

They will learn how to design their robotic insect to meet the requirements of a given environment; be able to adapt their designs to changes in any new information about the environment from our weekly resources.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_text_separator title=”This Week’s Resources” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-info-circle” i_color=”black” add_icon=”true”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][wpl_blog_posts number_of_posts=”3″ number_of_columns=”3_cols” category=”insects,robotics,mars”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_text_separator title=”Sponsored By”][vc_single_image image=”3454″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_text_separator title=”Supported By”][vc_single_image image=”3456″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.rocketlabusa.com/”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_text_separator title=”Activity Inspired By”][vc_single_image image=”3455″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.nasa.gov/”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_text_separator title=”Media Partner”][vc_single_image image=”3516″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”http://www.stuff.co.nz”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1653726506003{padding-right: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;background-image: url(https://www.taurangastemfestival.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Space-Comp-Website-BG-dark-skies-1200×600-1.png?id=3442) !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
